EMBARK Learning is a hidden gem, located in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. We are an independent learning and development company that makes a real difference to people’s lives and offer genuine career opportunities for people who are passionate about working in Health and Social Care.

Our focus is to educate, upskill and support fully trained, compliant Healthcare professionals including Healthcare Assistant apprentices and Support Worker apprentices to enhance the care sector, that sometimes struggles to attract people to the industry and retain qualified staff.

Our vision was to become a premium supplier of Level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeships and Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeships. We aim to develop care home apprenticeships, support care homes and healthcare professionals to recruit and employ apprentices for their organisations across the local region. We have developed an innovative, developmental and rewarding apprenticeship programme so care homes can effectively “grow their own care home workforce” for the future.

An apprenticeship allows you to earn, whilst you learn and normally takes between 12 and 18 months to complete. You are employed in a job, as a Care Assistant apprentice, by an employer and 20% of your employment is spent off-the-job training. You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

The benefits of completing a care apprenticeship in the UK means you learn the required skills, knowledge and behaviours to allow you to pass through the gateway and complete an end point assessment to allow you to work in adult social care. Your employer shows their commitment to you by funding part of the programme and paying you whilst you develop your care skills with the training provider. You do not complete the apprenticeship and incur huge costs at the end of the programme.

The benefits of completing an apprenticeship in the care sector also include achieving a qualification which is recognised by Health and Social Care employers and provides a quality start, to a long term career in the industry.

EMBARK Learning have designed their apprenticeship delivery model to be:

Flexible – the programme can be delivered at your care home, located in the UK for groups of 5 and above or your apprentices can do day release at our location.

Digital – each apprentice will have their own e-portfolio where tasks are set, reviews are created and learner surveys are recorded.

Informative and Innovative – our Tutors, Assessors and Support team have years of experience in the care sector and we have our very own Skills Lab and Virtual Reality equipment, where you can undertake some practical experience off the job.

Added Value – we think it’s important that you have a complete overview of the sector you want to develop skills in. We provide a unique set of partners that allow our apprentices to visit and showcase the care sector as a whole.
