Brain Injury Awareness

This course provides an introduction to brain injury and is an essential course to all individuals working with or supporting people with a traumatic or acquired brain injury. The course introduces some of the basic brain anatomy but focuses on the effects of brain injury and working with individuals, using a person centred approach to promote independence and providing effective support.

  • Identify the causes of and different types of brain injury
  • An understanding of brain anatomy
  • Understand how damage to different parts of the brain may affect the individual
  • Supporting communication
  • Skills and strategies for supporting independence
  • Understanding and working with behaviour changes
  • Understand the social impacts of brain injury


The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
