Learning Disability Support

This course covers and builds on from our learning disability awareness course taking a greater emphasis on supporting and working with individuals with a learning disability. In will entail exploring areas such as communication, behaviour and supporting independence with supporting individuals with tasks of daily living.

  • Defining learning disability and what we mean
  • Causes and prevalence of learning disability
  • Historical context and service design
  • Person centred approaches
  • Working with and supporting individuals with a learning disability looking at communication, behaviours that may challenge and supporting daily living skills
  • Positive risk taking


The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
