Proactive Pressure Area Care
This course provides the essential knowledge for all staff working with individuals who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers, moisture lesions or skin conditions and need to understand the importance of effective and proactive pressure care to ensure the safety and well-being of people in their care.
- Provide an overview of the structure and anatomy of the skin
- Understand what we mean by a pressure ulcer, moisture lesion and how they develop
- The effects of friction, shearing and skin distortion and how to avoid these when carrying out tasks such as moving and positioning people
- Identify risks associated with developing pressure ulcers
- Look at the use of screening tools

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment
All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance
